I am writing to apply for the Backend Software Engineer role at Northstar Technologies. Over the past seven years I have built and scaled backend services for high-traffic applications, and Northstar’s focus on reliable, large-scale infrastructure is exactly the kind of work I want to do next.
In my current role at Acme Cloud, I designed a payments microservice that processes €4M per month at 99.98% uptime, and cut API p95 latency from 850ms to 320ms through query batching and a Redis cache layer. I also led the migration of 12 services from a monolith to containerised deployments, which halved our release time.
Beyond shipping features, I care about the engineers around me — I have mentored three juniors, two of whom were promoted within a year. I would bring that same mix of hands-on delivery and team support to Northstar, where owning systems end to end clearly matters.
